Collection “Stannary”

The exhibition “Stannary. Collection of Liepaja Museum.” Throughout centuries people used tin plates, bowls, spoons and cups, many tin churns and goblets were in guild houses and apprentice brotherhoods, in drug stores various tin crockery was used, tin candlesticks, vases and other sacral things decorated churches’ altars. Only a paltry part of diverse variety of tin wares has remained until nowadays.

A wide and significant collection of Liepaja craftsmen tin wares is exhibited at this layout. Different 17-19th centuries guild goblets and churns can be found here, as well as medals of the 18-19 century made in Latvia and abroad.
